Abstract
Persistent axial non-fusion of the basilar artery represents a defect in the developmental process where the primitive arteries rostrally and caudally fuse to form the vertebrobasilar system at the embryonic stage. This is an extremely rare anomalous condition. This paper reports a case of persistent axial non-fusion of the basilar artery that was indicated by CT angiography and cerebral digital subtraction angiography. (Korean J Stroke 2008;10:148-151)
